For KANSAI HELIOS, sustainability is not just a promise, but a fundamental principle. As a key player in the chemical industry and a driver of innovation, it is our responsibility to promote sustainability at all levels. That’s why we focus our research and development on sustainable paints and coatings. By 2030, 80% of our research will be on sustainable products.

We are actively working to reduce our own carbon footprint. At the same time, we support our customers in achieving the optimal balance of ecological and economic goals.

PAINT INNOVATIONS FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

As a specialist in industrial coatings, for decades now we have been producing a variety of products that are used directly or indirectly in various areas for environmental protection and sustainability.

Protective coatings to extend service life

Anti-corrosion coatings permanently protect objects, infrastructures and products from corrosion. We have been offering water-based and high-solid corrosion protection coatings in the liquid paint sector for many decades. In the powder coating sector, super durable coatings and anti-corrosion powder coatings extend the service life of the coated surface and thus promote sustainability.

Special paint systems for photovoltaic systems, electric motors, built-in parts in wind turbines as well as high-quality protective coatings for hydroelectric power plants or infrastructure objects create the basis for more sustainability in all sectors of industry and especially in energy production. KANSAI HELIOS offers the first chrome-free coating for transformers.

In addition, innovative coating technologies such as cathodic dip coating (CDC) or powder coatings enable residual paint to be reused in production. They are particularly sustainable processes that indirectly make a significant contribution to the circular economy.

Energy and resource-saving coating systems

There are already more sustainable raw material alternatives for both wet paint and powder paint. Specifically, these are paint raw materials from organic or biodegradable sources. Tests show that efficiency, functionality and quality are maintained or even optimized in some cases in these more sustainable formulations (e.g. PAS coatings).

Our “Green Powder” is a groundbreaking powder coating that uses innovative resins and additives made from renewable and recycled raw materials. Almost 100% of the powder coating can be recycled back into the application process.

Many of our coating technologies enable lower curing temperatures (e.g. low-temperature powder coatings), faster curing times and ultimately lower energy consumption. We develop coatings for resource-saving production methods, as well as the reduction of waste and environmental impact.
